in my happy place.

I was in my happy place this weekend.

Wonderful weather + the opportunity to go on two different shoots.

I love when that happens.

Saturday was full of family cuddles + the cutest little princess at an apple orchard. I love when families giggle and play.

Sunday night was pure forest magic. I'm telling you. Perfection.

I mean, come on. How magical is this?

To those of you who entrust me to capture your special moments, thanks. I enjoy every second.

Happy Monday, friends!

xoxo, Rebecca

pixie fever.

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I have pixie fever. Every single time I see a cute pixie haircut, I want to run to the salon and chop off my locks. Seriously, every.single.time. - It's kind of sad. Or a sign that I'm going through some kind of emotional stress.

I go back and forth on whether or not I should take the plunge. I've actually taken the plunge before. I had a pixie cut a few years back and I liked it. But then I decided to grow it out. And that was torture. So there's that. Oh and the fact that I don't really feel like paying full price to get it trimmed up every 6 weeks.

Let's make a list, shall we?

The pros and cons of a pixie cut.

-It's super easy to maintain (which is amazing when you're a mommy).

-It looks really hip + different. And it almost gives you a feeling of freedom and confidence. Who doesn't like that?

-Less shampoo (so kind of budget friendly).

-It can take a long time to grow out.

-You have to make regular salon visits (or you'll have a rat tail, trust me) and that can definitely add up cost wise.

Which brings me to con #3...

Why do salons even charge you full price to get a TRIM? When you have a pixie haircut, it's basically a guy's hairdoo so why not just charge them for a men's haircut? I think that's fair.

What do you guys think?

Oh and how cute are these pixie styles? Which one is your favorite?

rainy day adventure.

I love rainy days, especially when I get to spend it with my two favorites exploring small towns. Pastries, coffee, the sound of rain and baby snuggles make for one good Saturday. Thankful to be blessed in the little things.

What are your favorite rainy day adventures?

Happy Monday!

let grace rule.

I'd like to say that my week got off to a good start but that would be a complete lie. My Monday morning was anything but pleasant. A screaming baby + a tired (and overwhelmed) mommy don't mix well. All my frustrations came to the surface. My sinful heart exploded like a fire hose and my husband got drenched with my unkind words. The remorse started to set it and the tears started to flow. And flow. And flow. Let's just say Joel didn't leave for work on time.

These moments are like a tornado. They roar past so quickly but leave you with a lot of damage. Where do you go from here?

Grace. God's grace.

Oh friend, I need God's grace every day. Every hour. I need HIM, every day. Every hour. But because of my pride and sin, I miss so many opportunities to let his grace rule in that moment.

"The greatest saints are not those who need less grace, but those who consume the most grace - those who are saturated by grace in every dimension of their being. Grace to them is like breath." (Dallas Willard - Renovation of the Heart)

God's grace is greater than my sin (Romans 5:20) and is sufficient in my moments of weakness.

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Responding in grace in our times of weakness displays the power of Christ. I want that in my life. I want grace to rule. Would you pray that for my life and yours?

"Lord, I Need You"

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

You're my one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

lazy summer days.

Yesterday was a perfect day. Beautiful weather, a relaxing picnic + fun times at the park made for a great afternoon with my favorite little man.

Lincoln's first time playing in a sandbox. I'm pretty sure some of the sand made it into his mouth. Yum.

Sandy feet.

Happy Tuesday!
