I'd like to say that my week got off to a good start but that would be a complete lie. My Monday morning was anything but pleasant. A screaming baby + a tired (and overwhelmed) mommy don't mix well. All my frustrations came to the surface. My sinful heart exploded like a fire hose and my husband got drenched with my unkind words. The remorse started to set it and the tears started to flow. And flow. And flow. Let's just say Joel didn't leave for work on time.
These moments are like a tornado. They roar past so quickly but leave you with a lot of damage. Where do you go from here?
Grace. God's grace.
Oh friend, I need God's grace every day. Every hour. I need HIM, every day. Every hour. But because of my pride and sin, I miss so many opportunities to let his grace rule in that moment.
"The greatest saints are not those who need less grace, but those who consume the most grace - those who are saturated by grace in every dimension of their being. Grace to them is like breath." (Dallas Willard - Renovation of the Heart)
God's grace is greater than my sin (Romans 5:20) and is sufficient in my moments of weakness.
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
Responding in grace in our times of weakness displays the power of Christ. I want that in my life. I want grace to rule. Would you pray that for my life and yours?
"Lord, I Need You"
Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
You're my one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
